Why exact age matters

Leap years, explained simply
A leap year is a year with 366 days instead of the usual 365 — an extra day added as February 29th. This correction keeps our calendar aligned with Earth’s orbit around the Sun, which actually takes about 365.2422 days. The rule is: a year is a leap year if it is divisible by 4, except centuries that are not divisible by 400. So 2000 was a leap year, but 1900 was not. If you were born on February 29th, your age still ticks up every year — most systems roll your birthday to February 28th or March 1st on non-leap years for legal purposes.
